Happy SHORT week everyone…No School tomorrow NOV. 3rd for Teacher work day AND on Friday, November 10th for Veteran’s Day.
Here’s what’s coming up for next week…
- THANK YOU to all those who donated supplies and time, volunteered or hung out with us on Halloween! The kids had an epic day of fun! THANK YOU!
- Family STEAM Night/Cardboard CHallenge is TONIGHT from 5:30 - 7:30!!!!! This year we will be having a big cardboard building event! Come join us and have some fun!
- We have already begun collecting your child’s special artwork in Kindergarten that will go into a binder for you at the end of the year. If you haven’t already done so, please send in a 2 in. binder with your child’s name clearly labeled on the inside cover. We would also like to preserve their art as much as possible, and would like to put them in clear plastic slip sleeves. If you would be willing to donate a box, we would GREATLY appreciate it!
- Cordelia Library will be in the School Library on Thursday, November 9th and December 14th at 2:15. Stop by after school or before running club and check out a book or two. Prizes for Solano Kids Read will be available on November 9th only!
- The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the School Library starting Friday, November 17th until Monday December 4th. Stop by for some Holiday reading and gifts.
- Holiday Tree Donations—Thank you for all of your classroom donations so far! Please check out the Signup Genius to donate needed items. We hope to raise lots of money for our kiddos at the Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00am-1:00pm in the MPR. Santa will be there!!!
- Canned Food Drive—Student council is collecting canned and boxed foods from now through Nov. 15th for local families who are less fortunate. Every food item will stay in Fairfield! Please consider donating! Donations can be delivered to the MPR or your child’s teacher. Thank you!!!
- November 13th – 17th are minimum days for the WHOLE school in order to accommodate parent/teacher conferences. ***ALL Kinder kids come to school together from 8:15-11:35am all week long ***. Please be sure to stay in your car and wait in the loading zone line with everyone else… It’s going to be a long wait. If you can, please park and walk in. DO NOT get out of your car if you are in the loading zone….it holds up everyone.
- A Parent/Teacher Conference Sign up Genius has been sent home for you to choose a time to meet with your child’s teacher. Please let YOUR teacher know if you need the link again. This is our ONLY sign up, so please make sure you are on it! Your child IS encouraged to attend their student-led conference. This is a great way to involve your child in his/her own education.
- Read to Succeed- Six Flags Read to Succeed reading logs and cover letter were sent home last week. This is a great and fun way to encourage your child to read daily. S/he can earn a free one day ticket to Six Flags by completing the reading log and turning it into his/her teacher by February 15th.
- This week’s theme is TURKEYS, and our new word wall word is “you”. We know the following High Frequency Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, and, have, go, to, has & you. Please encourage your child to use these words in their writing every day!
Thank you again for all that you do at home to support your child’s learning. We appreciate all that you do! Please feel free to email with any concerns or questions! Thank you!!
