Kindergarten Newsletter: Novermber 27-December 1

THANK YOU for making our Thanksgiving Feast a huge success!!! The kids enjoyed eating all of the special, yummy food with their friends.
We wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving break!!!!! There is NO School from Nov. 18-26th. The next month will go fast!  Four weeks until our next break...wow!

Here’s what’s coming up when we return……

·        Sharing can - Please have your child stretch out the sounds of all their words in their 3 written clues. Please do NOT tell them how to spell the words.  They will benefit much more from stretching out and writing the sounds they hear.  It will also help them to be able to read their writing.  Thank you for your support!

·        Holiday Fair—Be sure to stop by our Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 2nd from 10:00a.m-1:00p.m.  There will be fun crafts for the kids, cool stuff to buy plus our Holiday Kindergarten tree will be raffled off, along with all the other grade levels. All Kindergarteners are invited to come and sing on the stage for everyone at 10:30 a.m.  Santa will be there. Hope to see you all there!

·        Toys for Tots--Student council will begin collecting new and unopened toys!!  Please consider donating from December 4th-December 15th.

·        Our new theme will be Reindeer. Please review all of the high frequency words we have learned so far.  We know the following High Frequency Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, and, she, he, go, we, am, my, has, & you..  Please encourage your child to use these words in their writing every day!

·        Scholastic Book Fair- Please stop by the library between November 27th-December 4th to checkout the wonderful selection of books for sale.

·        Napa Fires Book Drive- donate a new or gently used book at the Scholastic Book Fair and be entered into a drawing.

·        We will begin talking about the different Holiday traditions in December.  If your family celebrates a special December/January holiday, we would like to invite you to come in and share it with our class.  Please talk to your child’s teacher if you’d be willing to come in for a bit and share your family’s holiday traditions!

·        Upcoming Dates to remember—
