Welcome back from break! We hope you all enjoyed a restful week.
Here’s what’s coming up for next week…
·
Thursday, March 30th, is our
fieldtrip to Imagine That in Vacaville. Please send your
child to school at their normal kindergarten time with a booster seat clearly
labeled with his/her name. All students need to go to class first for
attendance. Please remember that siblings are not allowed on fieldtrips per
district policy.
·
Bunny Blotto will
be on Friday, March 31st in the MPR. This is a family event very
similar to bingo with prizes. Doors open at 5:00pm. Blotto cards, food, and
drinks will be for sale. It is sure to be fun night!!!
·
Report Cards- Thank
you to those who signed and returned one copy of their child’s report card, as
well as, those who attended a conference. If you haven’t signed and returned
your child’s report card yet, please do so ASAP!!! Thank you.
·
Binders!!! We
still have several children that have not given us a 2” three ring binder with
a clear plastic sleeve cover. We are filling these binders with your child’s
beautiful art projects done throughout the year. If you have not yet given us
one, please do so ASAP. Thank you.
·
Our theme for next week is Butterflies
& Bugs. Our new
word wall word is “your.” We now
know the following words: I, like, see,
a, is, the, can, my, and, have, go, to, has, am, look, are, saw, went, with,
up, they, do, but, & will.
·
Library reminder-
Please help your child to remember to bring in his/her library book BEFORE
Fridays. We need to return them before our library checkout day.
·
Writing—For the last week
of March, we will finish talking and writing about how things taste. This will be our last week for taste words,
and show-off writing will happen at the end of the week. Please have your child
write at least two sentences about something they have eaten at
home, school or restaurant and what it tastes like. Our goal now is to have the
kids choose one topic and elaborate on it, and really describing the
experience. For example ”Today my mom
took me out for frozen yogurt. I picked vanilla yogurt with blueberries on top.
The yogurt tasted cold and soft in my mouth. The blueberries squirted juice
when I ate them.” (in Kindergarten
spelling/writing of course). We are encouraging LOTS of writing that all goes
together!
·
WEEKLY HOMEWORK—Packets
always come home on Mondays unless we tell you otherwise. Please have your child complete 1-2 pages
each night, and NEATLY complete the writing assignment.
·
Reading Eggs!!! Please continue to log onto Reading Eggs
and use this program to help reinforce our standards from home. It’s a great
program that is part of your child’s weekly homework assignment!!!
·
REMINDER Please be sure
that your child returns their plastic Ziploc book bag in their folder
everyday. Thank you!!
·
