February
27th
– March 3rd
We
are already in our last week of February! Things are moving so
WOW!!! We only have 65 school days left. Here’s what’s coming up for next week…
- We will celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday, Thursday March 2nd by participating in Read Across America and having a school spirit day Dress as Your Favorite Book Character.
- There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, March 3rd for all students. This is a teacher work day. Let's hope it's a sunny day off to enjoy.
- Our theme for next week is Dr. Seuss.
- Our new word wall word is “do.” We now know the following words: I, like, see, a, is, the, can, my, and, have, go, to, has, am, look, are, saw, went, with, up, they & do.
- Field trip- We will be walking to the Cordelia Library on Monday, March 6th to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We will listen to a story, complete a craft, and have a snack. If you are able to volunteer to supervise that day, please join us. Please do not bring any siblings to tag along when chaperoning on a field trip. AM K will be leaving at 9:45am, and PM K will be leaving at 11:45pm.
- DONATION NEEDED: We need ONE big Costco box of Rainbow colored Goldfish crackers per classroom by Monday, Feb.27th for a special center. If you are willing to donate, please let your teacher know so we only receive one. Thank you!
- Writing—Our writing job is the same all month. We are still writing using SOUND words. We will be doing our monthly show-off writing this week!!! Please have your child write at least two sentences about the sounds you hear. You can go for another walk, tell us about the sounds you hear in your house, on the way to school, whatever you like. “On the way to school I heard a garbage truck. It went beep beep beep. It was very loud and rumbly.” (in Kindergarten writing of course)
- Reading Eggs!! We do expect your child to be using it at least one night a week as part of their homework. Your child’s username is taped inside their folder.
- REMINDER Please be sure that your child returns their book bag in their folder everyday. Thank you!
Thank
you again for all that you do at home to support your child’s
learning. We appreciate all that you do! Please feel free to email
with any concerns or questions! Thank you!!
