Kindergarten Newsletter for May 9th-13th

It was wonderful watching moms, grandmas, and loved ones getting pampered by our kinder kids at Mother’s Day Spa. Thank you for coming and celebrating with us!!!

Here’s what’s coming up for next week…

·        Our theme for next week is Time and Eric Carle.

·        Next week’s Sharing is letter “Y.

·        Our new word wall word is “of.”  We now know the following words:  I, like, see, a, is, the, can, my, and, have, go, to, has, am, look, are, saw, went, with, up, they, do, but, said, will, come, was, would, there, & of.

·        Next week will be our final library check out for the year.  All library books will be due back Friday, May 20th.

·        Calling all Dads…  PLEASE come to our FATHER’S DAY Celebration in Kindergarten on Tuesday, May 31stAM Kinder will have their session from 8:30-9:15 and PM Kinder will celebrate with their dads from 11:45-12:30.  We understand that this is very likely inconvenient for most of you.  If you are able to come in, please be prepared to be celebrated by more than just your own child as many of the kids will not have their own dads here to play with. We will be making paper airplanes, building with blocks, playing with Play-Doh, cars, drawing… All the fun things daddies usually like to do with their kids.  Sorry dads, no massages and nail painting at this event.

·        Green Proof of Residence Form went home last week. Please complete the form, attach 2 proofs of residence, and return it to school as soon as possible.

·        Jog-a-Thon donations are due by Wednesday, May 18th. Thank you in advance for supporting our school and it’s many wonderful programs. Additionally, the deadline to order Jog-a-thon t-shirts has been extended.

·        Writing—During our last month of Kindergarten, we want everyone to think about all of the previous writing jobs we’ve had and try to incorporate DIFFERENT things to write about!  Our job in May is to use number words in our writing.  Our goal is to have the kids choose one topic and elaborate on it, really describing it.
