Kindergarten Newsletter November 9th-13th

Happy SHORT week everyone…No School Wednesday for Veteran’s Day!

Here’s what’s coming up for this week…

·        We are in our second week of dance lessons from the Royal King Dance Company. Please continue to bring your child to the MPR at 8:10 a.m. (AM Kinder) and 11:30 a.m (PM Kinder) all of this week. Students will be performing for parents/families. The date and time hasn’t been determined yet. We will let you know as soon as we do. Please help your child be successful by practicing the dance moves at home each day.

·  The Cordelia Public Library would love to have our students  take advantage of some of their wonderful programs, such as Paws for Reading, Book Club, etc.  Every Tuesday at 3:30p.m they offer free children’s activities and crafts. On November 10 at 4:00p.m the Vacaville Children’s Ballet will be performing the Nutcracker at the library.  A calendar of library events has been sent home in your child’s folder.

·        November 16th – 20th  are minimum days for the WHOLE school in order to accommodate parent/teacher conferences.  *ALL Kinder kids come to school together from 8:15-11:35am all week long. Dismissal every day will be just like Wednesdays.  Please be sure to stay in your car and wait in line with everyone…  It’s going to be a long wait.  If you can, please park and walk in.

·        Your child IS encouraged to attend their student-led conference.  This is a great way to involve your child in his/her own education.

·        PLEASE make sure that you are signed up for a parent conference time through Sign-up Genius.  This is our ONLY sign up, so please make sure you are on it!

·        Students will not be checking out library books next Wednesday, Novermber 11 due to the holiday/no school.

·        Holiday Tree Donations—Thank you for all of your classroom donations!  We hope to raise lots of money for our kiddos at the Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 5th from 10am-2pm.  Santa will be there!  All Kindergarteners are invited to perform at 11am.  So fun!

·        Canned Food Drive—Student council is collecting canned and boxed foods for local families who are less fortunate.  Please consider donating!  Donations can be delivered to the MPR.  Thank you!

·        This week’s theme is TURKEYS, and our new word wall word is “you”.   We know the following High Frequency Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, and, have, go, to, has & you.  Please encourage your child to use these words in their writing every day!

Thank you again for all that you do at home to support your child’s learning.  We appreciate all that you do!  Please feel free to email with any concerns or questions!  Thank you!!
