Kindergarten Newsletter for December 14th-18th

Here’s what’s coming up for next week…

   ·  FIELDTRIP- Tuesday, December 15 is our fieldtrip to Paradise Valley Estates Retirement Home. ALL AM and PM Kindergarteners will attend school from 8:15-11:35a.m on that day.
Students need a booster seat clearly labeled with their name and a festive holiday hat.
ALL students must go to their class in the morning for attendance or they will be marked absent. Parents who are driving only their own child must sign their child out from school to release the school/district from liability. Teachers will have a signout sheet in their room.
If you have not done so yet, please let your child’s teacher know if you will be driving/chaperoning a group of children OR driving only your own child to this event.

·  We have sent home information regarding Kids’ Korner, the gift shop set up Room 604 for students to purchase little gifts for their family members.  The parent volunteers will be able to help your child while there, but they must be accompanied by an adult, in order to visit. Teachers will NOT be accompanying your child. The gift shop is open daily till December 16th.

·        Sharing- Next week’s letter is “W”. Please remember to have your child write 3 clues about their share and be ready to read it aloud to the class.

·        Disney Day- Wear your Disney Gear (shirt, hoodie, hat, Mickey Mouse ears) on Wednesday, December 16th.

·        Our last Friday before break, December 18th is Pajama Day!  Please come to school in your cozy jammies or comfiest clothes! Students must wear shoes, no slippers.

·        Christmas Hat Day- Wear a Christmas hat or shirt on Friday, December 18th in addition to your jammies. Oh what fun!!!

·        Six Flags Read to Succeed reading logs— Completed reading logs are due to school by February 12th

·        Volunteers- Ms. Davila needs parent volunteers on Fridays. Please let her know if you can help from 8:30-10:00 a.m. Thanks!

·        With this cold and rainy weather, please make sure that your child’s coat is LABELED!!!!

·        Our theme for next week is Christmas/Holidays Around the World, and we are reviewing word wall words.   We know the following High Frequency Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, and, have, go, to, has, you, feel & we.  Please encourage your child to use these words in their writing every day!

·        Holidays Around the World—We have been talking about our family’s special Holiday traditions this month.  If you would like to come in to share your family’s special traditions, please let us know.

·        Holiday Fair—Thank you to all who came out last weekend and participated in the raffles and silent auction!  The school was able to raise a LOT of money!  Thank you!

Thank you again for all that you do at home to support your child’s learning.  We appreciate all that you do!  Please feel free to email with any concerns or questions!  Thank you!!
