Happy Halloween! All are welcome to our parties this Friday. Our school-wide Halloween
parade will be at 1:30pm on Friday afternoon, which means the
morning kids will have already gone home.
Sooooo…the morning kids will be “parading” through all classrooms first
thing on Halloween morning. You’re
welcome to join us for this, and if you would like to bring your AM student
back for the afternoon parade, you are welcome to do that too! J
·
Our theme
next week is HALLOWEEN, and our new Word Wall Word is have. We know the following High Frequency
Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, go, to and have. Please encourage your child to use
these words in their writing every day!
·
Sharing next week is something that starts
with N. Please have your child write
3 simple clues. If they
s-t-r-e-t-c-h out their sounds and only write what
they hear, they can usually read it. If
you feel it needs to be deciphered, please write below their words. Thank you!
·
Book Boxes – We make little paper books during
center time almost weekly. They are
intended to be kept at home and re-read by your child. Please have FUN with this and let your child
create a little shoe box, or fancy bag to keep their “books” in.
·
Reading Eggs – Every
child in Kindergarten has a Reading Eggs account that is paid for by our
MCA. Sadly only half of our students
are using it at all. It is a wonderful
resource and prizes have been awarded to students who are participating. Please encourage your child to use their Reading
Eggs account. Their user names and
passwords are taped inside of their folders.
·
Classroom volunteers—Thank
you for helping us to keep the noise level down
during center time.
·
Guided Reading Books—Just
a friendly reminder that we don’t always send these home, depending on what we
are doing in the classroom each week.
Right now, we are assessing students individually for our upcoming
report cards, so we are NOT doing reading groups. Please continue to read to and with your child every day.
Thank you again for all that you do at home to
support your child’s learning. We
appreciate all that you do! Please feel
free to email with any concerns or questions!
Thank you!!
