Kindergarten Newsletter
December 8th – 12th

Here’s what’s coming up for this week…

·        BINDERS—We have been collecting all of your child’s special art projects and we are ready to start putting them into BINDERS.  Please send your child to school in the next week or so with a 2in. BINDER LABELED with your child’s NAME on the inside.  The ones with a clear sleeve on the front are the BEST, as we would like to put a special cover page in it.  Thank you!!!!

·        We have sent home information regarding Kids’ Korner, the gift shop set up in our music room for students to purchase little gifts for their family members.  The parent volunteers will be able to help your child while there, but they must be accompanied by an adult, in order to visit.

·        Holiday Fair—Thank you to all who came out and participated in the raffles and silent auction!  The school was able to raise a LOT of money!  Thank you!

·        Toys for Tots—We are in need of MORE TOYS!!!  If you are able, please consider donating a new, unopened toy to a child in need.

·        Our last Friday before break, Dec. 19th is Pajama Day!  Please come to school in your cozy jimmies or comfiest clothes!

·        Six Flags Read to Succeed reading logs—Your child can earn a free admission ticket to Six Flags for logging six hours of reading.  You should have received a reading log.  Completed reading logs are due to school by February 13th

·        With this cold and rainy weather, please make sure that your child’s coat is LABELED!!!!

·        Our theme for this week is Christmas & the Grinch, and our new word wall word is “we”.   We know the following High Frequency Words: I, a, like, the, see, is, can, my, and, have, go, to, has, you, feel & we.  Please encourage your child to use these words in their writing every day!

·        Grinch Day!!!  We will be celebrating all things Grinch this Friday!  Feel free to dress like the Grinch, or wear green!  We will be doing fun Grinch projects and centers that day!

·        Holidays Around the World—We have been talking about our family’s special Holiday traditions this month.  If you would like to come in to share your family’s special traditions, please let us know.

Thank you again for all that you do at home to support your child’s learning.  We appreciate all that you do!  Please feel free to email with any concerns or questions!  Thank you!!
