Kindergarten News
December 15-19th

Who’s ready for a break???  Well, we’ve practically made it to the New Year already!  Can you believe it?  It goes by WAY too fast around here.  So, here’s what’s coming up for this last week in December…

v     Nelda Mundy’s policy is that we have 3 parties per year, Halloween, Valentine’s Day & End of the Year.  Therefore, we will NOT be having a party on Friday.  However, we will be enjoying our day by doing fun holiday activities.  We will be rotating classrooms and learning about different holidays celebrated around the world.

v     Our theme for this week is Christmas and our new word wall word is “am”.

v     Just a quick note about vacation break…when you can, PLEASE, PLEASE encourage writing practice!  Our writing is about to step it up!  When we return, we will be beginning to prepare our kids for the first grade.  So…NO MORE uppercase letters scattered throughout the sentence or in your name, there MUST be spaces between words and your sentences MUST make sense!!  Two weeks is a very long time in the World of Kindergarten.  Please help us to keep up the writing practice over this long winter break.  Thank you!

v     Our Winter Break begins Dec. 22nd , and we return to school on Jan. 5thWe wish you the merriest of holiday seasons and a relaxing break with your families.  Be safe and sleep in!

v     Finally, we would to thank all of our parent volunteers who have come in week after week, without fail, to help with centers, make endless copies or help us to prepare for our Kindergarten days.  Thank you to all of those who have helped OUTSIDE the classroom as well, cutting, gluing or assembling our many projects…and thank you to all of those who have just been supportive and always ready with a kind word or email.  We truly couldn’t run such a great Kindergarten program without your support.  Nelda Mundy is great because of you!  Thank you for ALL that you do to support our kids and our school.  Have a great vacation!

Feel free to contact us via notes, e-mails, or phone calls to school (not when we’re teaching please!) at any time, and we will do our best to answer your questions and concerns as quickly as possible.  Again, we’re so glad that your child is a part of our lives for this year!
